Early Preschool (Child must be 3 by 9/30/24)
Tues, Wed, Thurs		8:30 AM – 12 noon		$200 month

To register, we need: the completed registration page (front and back) and the non-refundable $50 registration fee.   These can be dropped by in person, Mon – Thurs 8:30 am- 3:30 pm, or mailed to :  Dahlgren United Methodist Church PO Box 1797 Dahlgren, VA 22448.   Registrations cannot be accepted, date/time stamped until the first day of registration opening.

WHERE HAVING FUN MEANS “I AM LEARNING”

Our goal at DCP is to offer a fun-filled pre-elementary learning experience that is based on Christian principles and taught by experienced, loving professionals.

Together with your preschooler, we will explore this big world of sights, sounds, textures, colors, and shapes.

We will learn more about ourselves and our friends as we master the concepts of sharing, taking turns, listening, and respecting others.

Most importantly however, we will have fun as we grow together in God’s house and in his care.

Dahlgren Christian Preschool encourages parents to stop by and observe our programs in session. For the safety of our students, we require all visitations to be scheduled ahead of time by calling the church office at 540-663-2230.

If you have questions about our program or would like to schedule a visit, please contact the Lead Teacher, Amanda McLoughlin on Mondays or Wednesdays from 8:30 – 12:30 at 540-663-2230. You may also pick up a DCP handbook from the church office, Monday – Thursday, 8:30-3:30 or download it from our home page.

PRESCHOOL DAY

Our goal is to enthuse children to learn through creative play and exposure to various types of artistic mediums. Depending on the daily theme, various stations are set up around the room to encourage exploration and fine motor play. On a daily basis, classes have group circle times for music, singing, finger plays, stories, and Bible lessons. Through song and interaction, we review weather, days of the week, months of the year, and get to learn all our classmates names and faces. Children bring their own food for snack time each day, and weather permitting, they visit the playground. Indoors we encourage gross motor activity through imaginative play and song and dance as well. Every day we devote time to structured learning of the alphabet, numbers, shapes and colors. This time is usually tied into arts and crafts using paint, markers, crayons, textiles, glue, scissors, Play-Doh etc. Again, learning should be fun and we stress if you are having fun, then you are also learning.

All of our teaching staff are required to have a college degree or equivalent teaching experience. They are trained in the current methods of First Aid and CPR and have completed the VA state EMAT training course.

All staff members have passed a VA state background inspection.
